There’s nothing worse than running out mid-way through your present pile. Fold the sides of your wrapping paper first, to ensure each and every corner and edge is perfectly crisp.”

Image Credit: Hobby Craft Blue and White Christmas Washi Tape Set in Deer Snowflake Polka, £1 Use decorative tape Got an awkwardly shaped present? “The wrap and tie method is one we’re particularly fond of,” advise the experts at Hallmark. “Rather than attempting an elaborate folding and tucking attempt, simply place the present in the centre of a piece of wrap or tissue paper, and then pull up each of the corners til they meet in the middle. Tie this with a piece of ribbon into a bow and there you have it. If in doubt, and the abundance of tape is more your go to method, make things jazzy with decorative tape, it covers a real multitude of sins!”

Hallmark suggests tying a couple of miniature jingle bells or a sprig of holly or ivy into your bow to add that magic touch. Kristina adds that you could use little Christmas baubles tied together with string to create bunting that wraps around your gift for a look that will truly stand out under the tree.
