Obtain on Demand is an online inclusive fitness platform that will represent a more inclusive space for people in fitness. It is no secret that the last year has highlighted a reel of failures in the representation of people in minority groups and biases for what fit and healthy looks like.
But Obtain is on a mission to make fitness more inclusive to all. The company sources and recruits the best trainers from diverse backgrounds. In doing so, it will actively avoid the common fitness instructor aesthetics and elite representations we are flooded with in today’s media.
Obtain wants its audience to be able to relate to its instructors, so that you feel that there is always an Obtain instructor who represents you. And it’s an aspect that will be continually worked on. What’s more, Obtain is about relating to the everyday person and not setting unrealistic goals. Do what you can, when you can, to Obtain the best version of yourself – that’s the motto!
What makes this inclusive fitness platform special?
Obtain launches with a collection of favourites from HIIT, Spin, Boxing and Strength to Yoga and Dance. The aim is to one day be the Netflix of fitness.
So whatever your mood, you will have something to keep your body healthy and moving. The team has carefully cultivated a varied class offering, with a progressive structure of beginner, intermediate and advanced. That means that members will always be challenged and catered for no matter their current level or ability.
How did Obtain on Demand begin?
Husband and wife duo, Jay, an experienced personal trainer and gym manager, and Tanya, a content producer and keen health enthusiast, founded Obtain.
During a troubled year in lockdown, Jay and Tanya balanced WFH and a complete shutdown of exercise facilities. The couple both agreed that there was a large void within the fitness sector when looking for training alternatives. Many companies and brands present toned, well-conditioned athletes with a clear lack of representation of ethnic backgrounds and varied body types.
So, the seed was planted and the wheels for Obtain on Demand inclusive fitness platform were put into motion. Jay and Tanya have developed an intuitive and easy-to-use video-on-demand service. The classes are categorised by discipline, so members can easily find their desired class seamlessly. New members get a 14-day free trial before having the choice of a monthly subscription of £12. What’s more, you can cancel anytime or complete a one-time payment for the year of £124.
Obtain will launch with over 20 classes, and will continue to add a collection of brand-new videos on a monthly basis to keep the community engaged and progressive.
Workout by workout, class by class, Obtain is here to provide a platform to “obtain your best self”.
